Best Fitness Trackers
Fitness trackers have become a must accessory for health-conscious people as well as people who are trying to make some better choices in the coming year. Naturally, because of the demand the market has become saturated with so many different models that it can be hard to make up your mind which one will suit you and your lifestyle.
We’ve had a little look at some of the most popular ones out there to try and whittle down the pros and cons of some of them. We’ve tried to select a good mix with a big price difference so everybody can find one that will suit their budget. They range from under £20 to over £400 and there are options even more expensive out there. We hope this helps you make up your mind if you’re considering buying one. Start the new year out right with a lifestyle overhaul.
Fitbit Charge 3
The Fitbit is one of the most popular fitness trackers currently available and the Charge 3 is a great place to start your fitness tracker journey as it is easy to use and reasonably priced at just £99.99. It’s very user-friendly and on the Currys website, it scores an impressive 4.5 out of 5.
You can keep track of everything with the app including steps, heart rate, calories, sleep patterns and distance travelled. Other perks are its 7-day battery life and the fact that it is waterproof.
Goji Go Activity Tracker
This Goji model is one of the cheaper of the selection coming in at just £29.99. That’s a massive saving of £40 in the sale currently at Currys. As it is such value for money it is also a more basic model than some of the others but it is still perfectly functional.
As well as a heart rate monitor you can also easily track steps, distance, sleep and calories. We love the sleek design and although it only scores 3.5 stars we think it’s perfect or those new to fitness trackers.
Garmin vivofit jr. 2, Adjustable Disney Frozen 2, Anna Activity Tracker and Watch for Children
Our next fitness tracker is one for children and it’s Disney Frozen 2 themed which instantly makes it a winner in our eyes. It’s currently on sale at John Lewis with £30 off making it just £49.99. There are other themes too such as Spider-Man and the Avengers.
This fitness tracker is designed to be a great motivator for little ones, once they have completed 60 minutes of activity they can then go and play on the parent-controlled app. Parents can set goals and chores with gems being awarded for completion and you can easily track the quality of your child’s sleep. Kids will love it and get more exercise!
Garmin vivomove HR Sport Smartwatch
We love the look of this Garmin Smartwatch. It doesn’t look like a conventional smartwatch instead it looks more like a regular watch which is much more stylish. The information you need still comes up on the watch face but it’s classier. John Lewis stock this one and it’s only £169. It has 4 stars and a two-year guarantee on the website.
To use the watch you simply swipe the watch face and the hands will disappear so you can focus on the stats, these include your heart rate, stress level, calories as well as message alerts such as emails and texts. It’s a great system for both workroom and workout.
Samsung Galaxy 42mm Smart Watch
This Samsung smartwatch is another that features an analogue face rather than a digital face and we love this one too. It is one of the more expensive choices on this list at £259 currently from Argos but it has over 4 stars out of 5 and £50 cashback when you purchase.
With this tracker, you’re able to keep an eye on over 40 types of exercise and sports. You simply sync up to Samsung health and you can monitor your heart rate, distance and calories burned while listening to your favourite playlist using your wireless headphones. You can keep track of what you’ve eaten and the nutrients and even pay for your shopping all from your watch. All this wrapped up with a healthy four-day battery life.
Apple Watch Series 5
No fitness tracker countdown would be complete without the latest Apple instalment. We are currently on series 5 and it’s hand down one of the best smartwatches on the market. As with most Apple products you will have to pay for the technology. This particular one is currently £499 at John Lewis.
The watch works with a retina recognition system so you only have to look at it to activate it. New to this model you also have an inbuilt compass perfect for running and hiking. The heart rate monitor will alert you if there is any unusual highs or lows, the watch can withstand dives of up to 50 meters and will automatically detect a workout and start recording.
As with some of the other top of the range, smartwatches you are also able to pay via Apple pay using your credit or debit card as well as send and receive texts, emails and calls.
Have any of these fitness watches tickled your fancy? We wouldn’t mind them all but have to say we have a soft spot for the Samsung Smartwatch.
