About DFDS Seaways

DFDS Seaways, where do I start? Okay, I’ll start from the beginning, where their magnificent story began.

Their inception dates all the way back to 1866, where many small Danish shipping companies combined together to create what has become the oldest and most honoured shipping company not only to exist in Denmark, but in the world.

Still to this day they sail on some of the same routes as they did over 100 years ago, but with one difference. They now own some of the most developed and intelligently designed vessels on the waters, fascinating everyone who has the pleasure of witnessing them.

As technology has progressed over the years, so has DFDS Seaways, because as a company in a very competitive industry they have realised the importance of adapting their strategies and philosophies when necessary.

The overall level of growth throughout their period of existence has been extremely vast in many significant areas of the company, but this has only helped propel DFDS Seaways to the very forefront of their sector.

DFDS Seaways

DFDS Seaways’ shipping network is quite unique, because it integrates freight and passenger services together. Delivering reliable freight services to haulage and forwarding companies, as well as developing and delivering industrial logistics solutions in co-operation with producers of heavy industrialised goods.

And of course, as I briefly mentioned earlier; DFDS Seaways also cater for passengers too. They provide fun maritime experiences and transport services for those who want to travel around Europe and Scandinavia with their car.

The number of activities that DFDS Seaways focuses on is quite profuse. Both freight and passenger services in their route network in Northern Europe is fantastic, something which makes the company stand out from the rest.

So, if you like to travel and you want to explore the continent by yourself, with friends or the family, there are some top locations to visit in the countries of France, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Poland and Lithuania. And with DFDS not charging on excess baggage, offering unbeatable value crossings and the flexibility of taking your motor abroad, they are one of the most convenient and low-cost ways to voyage around Europe.
