Membership fees, generous donations and legacies, aswell as revenue raised from their own commercial operations has enabled the National Trust to thrive, grow year on year and improve many aspects of their agenda.
All in all, the charity now has around 4 million members, plus over 60,000 volunteers who help with the day to day running. If you’re unsure of the work that the National Trust undertakes, let me tell you. They protect, preserve and open to the general public over 350 astonishing historic houses, stunning gardens and ancient monuments throughout Britain.
However, it doesn’t stop there because they also maintain forests, beaches, farmland, islands, moorland, fens, woods, castles, nature reserves and archaeological remains to allow us and future generations witness some of the most precious sites and places of meaning in the country.
If you would like to access some of these beautiful places, by signing up as a member you have full access to all of their properties throughout year, plus you receive some exciting benefits like a member’s handbook, three editions of their magazine and a free gift if you pay via direct debit.
The hard work, passion and dedication that the National Trust continuously carries out has not gone unnoticed, especially as Prince Charles is the President. He has been involved with the charity since 1995 where he began as a patron. He then agreed to become President, succeeding HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and has remained in this position ever since.
Aswell as having a personal interest in every aspect of the National Trust, Prince Charles also helps host fund-raising events, meeting volunteers and visiting properties as much as his time allows.
Over recent years the charity has become increasingly well known, with hundreds of new members signing up each day. This truly signifies the impact that they have had upon Britain and the people in it.
This is why we are so pleased at Money Saving Heroes to be working alongside the National Trust to promote their outstanding work to a wider community. Their persistence and commitment has definitely paid off and the impact they have had on the environment has been commendable.
If you want to get involved with the National Trust in some way or another, we highly recommend it. The National Trust says that life is for living, so you should get out and visit some of their special places and spaces.
We couldn’t agree more!
