Email me this discountNational Express Group is a leading multinational public transport company; delegating their services across a fleet of buses, coaches, trains and trams in several countries across the world. Each year sees more than 800 million journeys taking place across the magnitude of services and routes provided to their customers.
With the main headquarters located in England’s second city, Birmingham, the business has been thriving since its inception in 1972.
However, the brand we know and love today was formerly split into several divisions before being unified in November 2007.
With a whole host of services available, they are continually offering competitive pricing and low fares for their customers.
One of their priorities is to help add to a greener economy. Travelling by coach has proven itself to be one of the most environmentally friendly forms of transport.
Not only are less people going to be in individual cars but coaches omit seven times less CO2 emissions in comparison, making it a more viable mode of transport, both to the environment and your bank balance.
They have consistently provided intuitive ways to save their customers money. Highlights include saving a 1/3 on standard fares with various Coachcards available.
These fantastic discount cards are applicable to young persons (16-26), registered disabled and seniors (over 60). For example, a Young Person’s Coachcard caters to 16-26 year olds who need to travel cross country on a budget.
Travelling by National Express can be deemed cheaper than travelling via car, ideal for customers, young or old who need to save every penny they can. However, if you’re travelling with children, take advantage of the Family Coachcard to apply a kid’s travel for free discount.
Similarly, they also offer excellent discounts on group travel. When travelling in a group of four or more, you can save 25% off standard fares when booking three days in advance; perfect for days out with friends or travelling to events and wanting to save some extra money.
National Express have made significant changes to their coaches to make sure they’re delivering the highest quality of service, resulting in their customers’ having an enjoyable and comfortable journey.
The majority of coaches are fitted with the latest modern facilities including reclining leather seats, seatback tables, ample legroom, toilets and air conditioning.
Whether you’re looking to take a city break in London or visit a family member up North; we at Money Saving Heroes highly recommend using their low fares finder tool on their website to forage for the best rates online.
Some useful information when booking
When booking your coach trip, it's always good to know what you can and can't take on-board your travels. You're permitted to having one or two medium sized suitcases or rucksacks in the cargo hold, free of charge, weighing a maximum 20kg per item. This does not include your personal hand luggage, which must be able to fit either underneath your seat or above you in the overhead storage.
If you do require extra luggage space, there is a surplus charge for each additional item. Each additional piece of luggage will be charged £10 on a single journey or £15 on a return trip. You can have up to three chargeable pieces of luggage transported in the hold, subject to available space of other passengers using their allotted free allowance.
