About La Tasca

La Tasca was founded in 1993 by Neil Gatt. The chain was bought by the Bay Restaurant Group in 2007 for £123 million. However, in 2011, it became a standalone business under the name La Tasca Holdings Ltd.

La Tasca is a chain of authentic, fully licensed restaurants in the UK that serve Spanish style tapas dishes. The very first La Tasca Spanish Tapas Restaurant and Bar opened for business in Manchester’s city centre. There are now over 40 La Tasca restaurants across the UK and overseas. From Birmingham to Aberdeen and Cardiff to the United States.

Each restaurant expresses its own unique personality thanks to the use of vivid ceramics, rustic cookware, bright prints and posters, all aiming to create the look and feel of traditional Spain. With most of the chains also sporting inviting terraces for customers to eat and drink, the idea is to feel your no longer in the UK. Regardless of which location customers choose to dine at, each restaurant shares the same reputation for quality food and good times.

The business uses traditional ingredients from Artisan suppliers across Spain. By sourcing from Spain, La Tasca provide the most authentic Tapas, Paella and other Spanish dishes. The chain’s head chef, Antony Bennett, works closely with local Spanish farmers and artisan producers to obtain their unique range of meats, vegetables, oils, spices and wines.

For example, Antony has sourced quince from Galicia in Spain’s north, Tortas from Seville and traditional cured meats from Pamplona by personally visiting all of La Tasca’s suppliers to ensure that their customers are only getting the best quality

La Tasca was awarded for its gluten-free friendly menu, as the Healthy Food Guide crowned the restaurant ‘Best for Gluten-Free’ in the magazine’s annual Healthy Eating Awards. The gluten-free menu itself features a stellar 34 gluten-free dishes.

La Tasca restaurants also hold regular local events, including monthly ‘Fiesta Nights’ that attracts customers who want to stay late to drink, dine and dance. Customers are continually supported with new ways to enjoy their dining experience; in October 2012, La Tasca began a partnership with the Gourmet Society, offering their members discounts on production of a Gourmet Society restaurant discount card.
